Is it safe to drive in Greece?
Yes. Greece’s motorways and main roads are in good condition, and a rental car lets you reach places like Delphi, Meteora, the beaches of Crete and the island villages on your own schedule. Mountain and island roads can be narrow and winding, so follow local speed limits and take your time.
What is the minimum age to rent a car in Greece?
Each host sets a minimum driver age and how many years you must have held your licence, and some charge a young driver fee. The exact rule and any fee are shown on each car page and included in the price before you book.
Do I need an International Driving Permit (IDP) in Greece?
EU and EEA licences are accepted as they are. With a licence issued elsewhere you may need an International Driving Permit alongside it, so check before you travel; if you are unsure, ask the host via the contact button on the car page.
Is basic insurance included?
Yes. All cars include mandatory Third Party Liability insurance that covers damage caused to third parties. Details appear on each listing and on your voucher.
Can I add full insurance coverage?
Yes. Many hosts offer cover packages such as CDW, Super CDW or full insurance. The packages each car offers, with their price, are listed on the car page, and you choose one when you book.

How do I join Rent From Locals?
Registration is free. Sign up with email, Google or Apple, then confirm via the email we send.
How do I publish my cars?
After signup, click “List your car” to add each vehicle with photos, price, deposit, delivery areas, and insurance details.
How do I receive reservations?
You get alerts by email and WhatsApp. Accept or refuse within 24 hours. Keep prices, terms, and calendar accurate to reduce refusals.
How can I increase visibility?
Results are sorted by price first, then by a host score built from positive reviews, a high acceptance rate, the number of bookings and few withdrawals. Add airport delivery and clear insurance options to boost conversions.
When and how do I get paid?
You are paid locally on delivery. For no-show protection, set a booking guarantee. It is charged on the customer’s card when you accept and refunded within 48 hours of pick-up, unless the customer fails to show.
What if the customer does not show up?
If the customer misses pickup and did not cancel in time, report a no-show from the booking. If the customer confirms it or does not dispute it within 48 hours, the guarantee is not refunded. Rent From Locals keeps it; it is not paid out to the owner.
